Counselling Practice Overview

My aim is to help you understand and resolve any personal difficulties you may be experiencing to improve your wellbeing.

By working together in a safe and professional setting, I will help you to gain clarity and understanding about yourself or the issues that concern you.  Finding new ways to cope can help you move forward in life, make new choices and achieve your goals, whatever they may be.

Every client is different with individual needs and I will work with you on the best way forward for you.  Whatever your needs, I will be there to support you during times of change and uncertainty.

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change” – Wayne Dyer

Counselling for Individual Adults

Sometimes it is difficult to speak to people around you for fear of ‘feeling stupid’ or ‘feeling like your going mad.’  I can provide a safe space which is time just for you, for you to talk and be heard.  As I am not emotionally involved in your life I can give you a different perspective and really help you to understand what is going on for you.  Together, we can explore what you need from life and how to get there.  I can also help you develop new ways to cope with specific problems such as anxiety, depression, loss and trauma.

Online counselling

Online counselling can be ideal for anyone who finds it difficult to access face to face counselling for reasons such as anxiety or disability.  I have a diploma in online counselling and I am a member of ACTO (The Association for Counselling and Therapy Online).  I also work as a tutor for online counselling.

I can offer sessions via phone, email, live text chat or video link such as Skype.  Contact me for more details.

Couples counselling

Relationships cause powerful feelings which can lead to conflict, misunderstandings and break ups.  I can help you talk and understand what is happening within the relationship which can help you to move forward.  People come to couples counselling for many reasons: feeling stuck and unsatisfied, affairs, repeating the same arguments.  Learning how to communicate effectively can stop small misunderstandings turning into bigger problems.  It doesn’t matter if you are gay or straight, living together, married or single, contact me for help.

I am experienced in helping adults and young people with special needs and disabilities.    Sometimes living with disabilities and additional needs can leave us feeling misunderstood and isolated.  I am here to listen to how you feel and how your situation is impacting you.  If you are struggling with a particular issue, it can be helpful to talk to someone who is not emotionally involved in your life.  I also offer support and counselling to parents or carers.
