About Me
Melanie Lovegrove
I am a warm, caring and dedicated counsellor. I have gained vast experience working in adult and youth counselling agencies, hospices and organisations assisting their work forces. During this time, I have supported adults and young people through some of their most challenging times in life. I currently work in private practice and for Thames Hospice as a counsellor supporting patients and families. I am a qualified online counsellor.
My background is in Human Resources, management and administration. After some life changing experiences and a journey through counselling myself, I retrained as a psychotherapist. I wanted to offer others the opportunity to experience the rewards and benefits I gained from counselling. I also volunteer for Norwood supporting adults with learning difficulties.
Approach
I am an integrative counsellor which means I incorporate aspects and tools from a range of different therapeutic models. This offers a flexible therapeutic approach to suit your individual needs.
My approach includes:
Humanistic person-centred counselling which respects your own individual experiences and the ability to fulfil your own potential.
Psychodynamic counselling and attachment theory which explore how your past can affect your present and how you relate to others.
CBT and SFBT – behavioural techniques which are effective for the treatment of anxiety and depression.
